Does the leaf spring in the magazine need to be attached at the front... mine isn't on a recently acquired 1969 .308 and it MAY be the problem I'm having with the rounds not loading smoothly or ejecting properly... what say ye?

The leaf spring is free to move front to back in the magazine.

I have 3 brand new ones laying around for the BAR1, and whilit is not detached, there is a noch in the front were the spring is resting - but it CAN be mooved to the rear. If it mooves to freely, the spring is to loose.

I bought a new one from my local gunstore today and ordered a backup from Midwest Gunworks ($15) ... along with some Super X1 expendables I've been putting off buying.

The original had a broken tab, now that I looked at it closer; allowing it to move freely front to rear and jam freely also.

Thanks again.
