Has anyone rebarreled a Ruger No 1 whereby the original ramp would not fit.

I thinking specifically about rebarreling a 375 Ruger 1 to 470 Nitro.

Obvioulsy the ramp or mounts must keep the scope parallel to the bore.

I have a couple of #1's that have been rebarreled, all of which were able to re-use the quarter-rib.

Even if you have a new barrel that is bigger in diameter than the old one, you can get new quarter-ribs from Ruger for the different barrel diameters for about $50.00 US.

If all else fails, there are aftermarket mounts available, I believe Burris makes one. They don't look as nice, but they work.

There are any number of mounts that may be adapted. The gunsmith rebarrelling the rifle should contour the barrel keeping in mind what is readily available. It is also entirely possible to recontour the Ruger base/rib to match the contour of the new barrel. Regards, Bill.
