Lately I've had a hankering for a 10mm and since I've had such great luck with Kimbers (so far) I have been looking for an Eclipse Custom II. Well, yesterday I stopped by Cabelas and lo and behold there was a brand new DE sitting in the case! I'm obviously aware of Colt's outstanding reputation but know nothing about this particular gun. At first I wasn't crazy about the wrap around rubber grip but I think after fondling it for a few minutes my hand might get real used to it!! I'd like night sights and the sights that come with it appear to be post (?) style (not dovetailed) so was wondering how difficult it would be to have a 'smith swap them. Price was $1000. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the feedback!

Regards,
Scott

Colt Delta Elite is a top notch pistol. It's basically a series 80 and $1000 is a great price. As for the sights Wayne Novak will do it and you'll have nice night sights. I think sights with installation and sighting in of the gun run just over $300 plus shipping

Better go back and get it before someone else does.

I believe that problem was fixed on later models.

I've seen a couple that had galling in the frame/slide rails, both stainless. Probably an issue of not replacing the recoil spring as needed and a lack of proper lubrication.

Kept obsessing about it so went back and bought it.

Have about 200 rounds through it and so far, so good. Hate the sights and am looking to get them replaced and I also have a Wilson drop-in beavertail grip safety ordered for it, but once those are fixed this thing might spend some time in the holster getting toted around.

Scott

If you had a problem with a frame it could have been prevented with a stronger spring. I have never seen any problems with the ones I have looked at. Am currently having one built (SS) at the Cuatom Shop at Colt. Cannot wait to get it!
