Gentlemen

I have a little problem... I got a Brno ZG-47 bolt were the fireing pin hole is not perfectly in center??

Is there anyway to fix this problem, without changeing the bolt body?

What is the best and easiest way to polish up and action on outside and inside? stones or polishing machine?

Cheers

It is possible to bush the bolt face and redrill the firing pin hole. The exact technique might vary depending on how far off the present hole is.Regards, Bill

Thanks for the tip. Actually the hole is not soo much faar off, atl least that what I have been told, but since I'm a picky bastard that hates errors. I guess the error is bigger in my imagination than in reality.

The method I like is to drill and tap the bolt face for a hardened set screw, then solder it in place, re-drill the firing pin hole and face the bolt. Done properly and cold blued, you will have a hard time telling anything was done except by looking at your now concentric firing pin holes.-Rob

I have not done this before but I do not think you can move the firing pin hole very much without having the firing pin bind somewhere further back inside the bolt. The collar on the firing pin where the spring butts up to seems to be a fairly close fit in bore of the bolt.

I do believe Hart is correct on this matter. The entire firing pin assembly bore in the bolt body is probably all concentric and simply re-drilling the pin hole would, in all likelyhood, cause the firing pin to bind somewhere. I have welded up different bolt faces, used a tig welder and kept the heat down. Soldering is OK, for a second rate job; it leaves a ring of solder on the face at the juncture of bolt and screw and we all know solder is soft.

I just today picked up my Stolle Panda bolt that I had the bolt face opened from PPC to BR and the firing pin hole bushed and redrilled to .062 dia. All work was done by the folks at SG&Y / Speedco riles in Roanoak, Tx. They do flawless work. This is the second bolt that I have had them do and both are perfect. They do not weld or solder the bolt face, but drill and bush the firing pin hole. Contact Speedy or Don at www.sgyrifles.com if interested.
