I use Jim's sight on all my custom mdl 70's. I think it is a fine sight.

My unfinished project I had an original winchester safari sight for but the base was contoured for a different barrel, was able to get a replacement from Wisner. However, I was told that his site is superior to the original (I decided to keep for nostalgia and to save money where I could).

great products. Now, Jim if you're reading, if you could figure out how to put a fiber optic rear on there..... Big Grin that would be cool

Red, Jim & crew only make a run when Weatherby orders them, perhaps you should contact Weatherby about your fiber idea

If you got a Wisner sight you are lucky, they can be hard to come by

Please clarify, are those are two different sights in the above pictures. I assume Wisners is the one in the white, is it different from the one on the rifle?

thanks,

Rob

Same sight, it is a replica of original rear sight on pre-64 WIN MOD 70 458 African Express

It is an express sight but instead of leafs, it has a wheel to move blade

the advantagae of course being that you aren't stuck with elevation, you can adjust it. I understand the original screw was two piece, and that Jim's is one, or something along those lines. whatever the situation, the new is better than the original.

What I'd like to see is that site with this blade (which I'd love to try out)
