No and no. In fact, there is now an old M7 and a new M7 which can be distinguished by 1-Scope Base Hole at the Rear(Old) or 2-Scope Base Holes at the Rear(New). The original M7 is actually a bit smaller than the Remington Short Action and was based on the old XP-100 Action. All are excellent, stiff Actions which have provided excellent accuracy for me and great fully-adjustable Triggers.

The difference between a m7 and a 700sa is the length of the rear bridge. The 7 is shorter of course. As far as parts go I guess the trigger, recoil lug, barrels w/ proper head space and the mag box from a 700sa will work, Thats about it. Also the two piece bases are all the same if the m7 has the 2 hole rear bridge. As far as foot print HC is absolutely right. So stocks and floor plates from one will not fit the other. I used to have pics of the two side by side on here, you my try a search. The pics my have been on my image station account though. If so they are gone for ever. The worst ting about a m7 is that there aren't as many options as far as stocks. Have you cycled your PF upside down lately????? Griff What calibre is it. I have shot Remington Model 7's in 223, 243, 6mm, 7mm/08, several in 308, and a 350 RM. Some had 18" barrels some 20" barrels, all factory. ALL of them were very accurate shooters. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
