Rich, I'm not following you. You began by asking for a thin walled, single stack mag for a ?x55 mm case. Then you posted a pic of a .30-.30(52mm) mag followed by a mention of a 7.62 x 39mm mag. Neither of which will work for a 55mm case. What exactly are you looking at? Do you need a mag for a .473 +/- casehead or something smaller?

OK, well then you need a magazine that can accomodate a cartridge with a max overall length of around 3 inches. That translates to a minimum of a x57 or a '06 family mag. Sauer mags fit that bill, as does the Rem 788 6x57 mag, and several others. You might have to bend in the rear retainer lips a bit to hold in the smaller round, depending on the mag. Are you thinking about adapting it to a Carcano project?

There are some threads over at Practical Machinist and Gunboards forums with a how-to on installing a single stack AK mag into a 7.62x39 Carcano project. The 788 mag may just be narrow enough to fit in the Carcano mag well.

Sorry, not really....I re-barrelled one to 35 calibre with blown out 6.5x54 MS case and the other from 6.5x52 Carcano to 6.5x54 MS. I'm still looking for a single stack mag myself...most likely have to make them from scratch....I used the CZ mag in my Spanish Mauser 7.62x39.
