i have a model 700 270 adl and i like the clean barrel look on my custom rifles. although, this rifle shoots too good to just rebarrel. is there a way to fill these holes (old tapped holes from the sights)and reblue it? thanks for any info given.

Fill the holes with screws (on a new gun they're used to fill the scope holes or you can get them from Brownells). Put tape over the screws to protect the barrel and use a dremel to grind away the top of the screws, when done touch up screws with bluing solution. Done. You're now a shadetree gunsmith.

I just use 6x48 plug screws. I prefer the ones that do not have the positive stop. I like to screw them in flush with the barrel.
