If you have a minimal shoulder what angle should it have to control headspacing?

I like to make a 458 shorty on a rimless case without a magnum belt, instance on a 416 Rigby case.

How short? What OAL are you looking for? I would say between 20 & 25 degrees would be a safe bet.

About 2" and it should fit into a Remington 7 og 700 action. I am not sure, but I think the Remington bolt i .700" and the rigby case is .590". In Norway the 338 lapua is more common so I will use this one I think.. Do you know the exact rim diameter for Lapua case??
