I have a Model 700 BDL that I bought back a couple years (2006 Model I believe)ago. I was wondering if someone would know the "rate of twist" it's a 24" barrel.

I was trying to find a pet load using Barnes 53 grain TSX and they recommend a faster twist than twelve for that bullet. Might explain why I can't get better 3/4"-1" groups @ 100 yards.

Thanks

Steve

Almost every factory 22-250 is 1-14 twist
Custom rifles are another story
The reason Barnes recommends a faster twist rate is due to the bullets length. Being solid copper it's longer

It's pretty easy to measue it yourself using a tight fitting patch on a cleaning rod.
