i wonder if it is good idea to soldder on a ruger ss barrel. i have a ruger 77 all weather and want to soldder an express sight on it. is it necaissary to have especial kind of solddering ally ? would it work well?

comet (acid) flux... rub bar soap everywhere you DO NOT want solder or the surface etched, and keep going

we find that silver bearing solder works by far the best on stainless. Go to a refrigeration or air conditioning shop & see if you can get a bit of stay-clean flux. It's an acid flux but the silver bearing solder will flow to it and yield 100% coverage
