This is my test steel. Pilkingtons rust about 4 coats then Naval Jelly. Still a bit uneven.

rich, that looks good. How did you prep the slide before starting? I would think that would be pretty cool on the whole rig.....

I just sanded the slide with some 400 grit paper to remove the bluing then a buff on a cloth wheel
