Can anyone tell me how these barrels rate out ? It would be a rebarrelling project on a 700 action in a magnum barrel contour. Would be strictly a hunting rifle. Thanks in advance

if it was made by the spencer in va it should be a very good barrel. probaly a little more than you "need" for a "hunting" rifle. but nice to have

I think PacNor has the best deal on quite good barrels. For a hunting gun, PacNor would suit your needs, as would a Douglas. I don't favor the cheap barrels like ERShaw, A&B. You get what you pay for. If your going to the expense to make a great gun, don't skimp on the barrel.
