Gringo CazadorMossberg 810 barrel thread and dia.
I’ve googled it but can’t find out anything. May have to screw the barrel off and gauge it but thought someone would know.
For a guy that has a bunch of customs I have some beaters too. I have a Monkey Wards 30/06, Western Field M765. I bought for cheap years back. It’s built like a tank, it’s a 810 Mossberg best I can tell. I may put a new barrel on it some day.
Anybody know the thread/dia. trying to figure out if I have a barrel laying around I can use.

richjI always wanted to (have or just handle) one of those. Wonder if Numrich would help, they have barrels. Or an email to Mossberg?
Google?

The barrel I took off my 810A 30-06 Mossberg was 28 TPI, 1" outside diameter of the threads. I spun a take off Remington on it and the threads were completely gone by the time we cut the shank small enough to fit the receiver. I think the Remington barrels are 1.060 outside thread and 1.018 when there were no threads left.

dpcd1-18.
Unique; I know of no other rifle that uses those threads.

Gringo CazadorSo it’s 1 inch OD and 28 threads per inch. I think that’s what I read. Was hoping to use a Remington take off barrel. Although hope is not a very good strategy LOL.

dpcd28 is not what I have in my notes. Where did you read that?
Turning a Remington 1.0625x16 barrel down to one inch, will not clean up all the thread roots. Since thread depth is .038.

I thought I read in the link someone posted it was 1" OD and 28 TPI. But I wasn't sure thats why I responded like I did.
So is it 1" OD at 18 TPI

Jeff,
Your the one that hooked me on this Monkey Wards O6, 20 years ago. I bought it from a guy you knew. I forgot his name but he worked for National Oil Well as a sales guy. You told me I know a guy that has a 30/06 for sale cheap and gave me his phone number. I called him up and met him during lunch one day and bought it. Its been in my safe for all these years.
The old gun was never shot very much but someone must have shot some corrosive ammo in and put it without cleaning. Barrel is bad pitted.
Its so ugly its cool.

dpcdMy data in my notebook came from Otteson's book "The Bolt Action". He could be wrong.
