Friends- I have a rifle project in the works on a Remington 1917 action. When I purchased the action, it came with either Springfield bottom metal or someone had already straighted the "dog-leg." My question is this; what other bottom metal options exist for Enfields like Sunny Hill, Blackburn, etc. I saw an Enfield on Rick Freudenberg's web-site and the trigger guard had a nice release button like a Blackburn et al? Are there some aftermarket sources for bottom metal out there for Enfields. Thanks in advance. May the wind be in your face and the sun at your back. P. Mark Stark

A few years back Rifle magazine printed an article about a 1917 Engfield that had been extensively customized by Ted Blackburn, and wore one of his triggerguard/magazines. So I am sure Blackburns would be a great place to try. Their website is http://www.blackburnmachine.com/index.html

22WRF- Thanks for the information. I called Ted and said that once upon a time he build bottom metal assemblies for Enfields but, not in recent years and in fact sold what few parts he had to a gentleman several months ago. Any other thoughts? May the wind be in your face and the sun at your back. P. Mark Stark
