fostechaction screws
I have a new sako 75 varmint in a 22-250, I loaded up some 53gr smk with 36.5 gr of varget shot about 25 rounds each group of five was about 0.750" @ 100 yrds, I then took the stock off the gun to ajust the trigger when i put it back on the same load shots about 1.5" @ 100 yrds????? If i tightened the action screws up too much would that cause the change in group size?? what else could be my problem? i broke the barrel in properly and have been cleaning it regularly, any suggestions?

p dog shooterIt could You could have cause the barrel to touch some place it wasn't before. Or not touch where it was before. Try backing them off half a turn then shoot for a group. Sometimes it takes some playing around to get a rifle to shoot its best.

If changing the torque on your action screws alters your POI at all you need to rebed using the method of your choice. Jim
