I have a custom action on the way that is basically a Remington 700 clone built to benchrest tolerances. What problems am I going face trying to have a 325 WSM built on it? Was thinking of making it a switch barrel with the other barrel being a 7mm WSM.

If it has a magnum boltface I can't see why you would have any problems.

Blackfoot, If the tolerances are minimum, are you going to have trouble with the action locking up when exposed to field conditions? African dust and dirt *will* do this, I don't know about your hunting conditions. jim if you're too busy to hunt, you're too busy.

Actually the clearance is a little more than the benchrest actions, but the tolerances are the same. That being said, Jim Borden has been building rifles on actions that have benchrest tolerances and clearances, and swears there has been no problems in the field. See this discussion between Jim Borden and Jerry Stiller, two top BR action makers, on Benchrest.com: http://www.benchrest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29151&highlight=predator My problem is I don't know what parts to use for the magazine so they feed properly. I guess I will leave that to my gunsmith:-)
