I found a couple of Redfields in the back of my cabinet. They are gloss black. They have the usual nicks and marks. I have just used a black marker in the past to touch up. Anyone have a better answer? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Short of returning it to the manufacturer for refinishing, I think hat's as good as it gets......and it seems to work fairly well. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Don't tell everyone I thought Casey's made a pen for aluminum touch-up. Is it just a marker? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I suppose you could really motivated and coat them with gloss black Duracoat. They'd never scuff then! Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

To touch up nicks in European scopes, I use Model Master semi-gloss black enamel. It come in little 1/2 oz jars and can be found in hobby stores. Let some thicken on the inside of the cap, and dap it into place with a toothpick. Keep layering it until flush. I'm sure it comes in Gloss and Matte as well.

High quality spray paint. I've painted a few scopes over the yrs, they came out ok for a hunting rig. I've even painted them with cheap flat black and topped with low gloss poly spray. It would have to have a bunch of nicks before I would even worry about it if was on a hunting rig. Billy, High in the shoulder (we band of bubbas)
