I would like to get a nice drill press. It should be able to handle both woodworking and metal. I would also like it to be able to adapt to mortising chisel attachments for stockmaking. What do you guys use? Specific recommendations appreciated...

I bought a Southbend floor model on ebay for $150 and can't say enough good things about it. I really like the older US made machines. Older Delta's sell for more. gunmaker

Get a floor model and one with the lowest slow speed you can afford. They all have good higher speeds, but finding one with a minimum speed around 200 is an advantage. I'm a knifemaker, and need the slow speed to drill stainless and tool steel without burning up bits. Don
