I have a Kimber of America 84M in 308. I want to rebarrel to 358. What contour is the factory barrel, 1 or 2? Is there enough meat to re-bore to 358? Any opinions? Dr. Lou

Dr Lou,
I don't know the contour...

but the END of the barrel, at a reasonable length, in a .358 should be about .608 at the ABSOLUTE minimum. that's 1/8" on either side.

a rebore will cost you about what a rebarrel and blue will.

and, YEP the 358 is worth it... you can lob a 225 grain bullet at the same speed as a 308 can lob a 168... and the 225 will have a BC of .411

788 to 358?

nah... [Cool] [Cool] that's just too hard... why don't you send that 788 to
Jeffe Osso...
Gunsmith lane
Porter Texas...

Truely, it's the easist 358 to have, with the possible exception of a savage 10 in 308. And should be pretty accurate
