Recently, the bolt on my Carbon-15 (AR variant with a glass fiber receiver) twisted into upon firing. I dug up the warranty information and called the number in Lake Havasu City to find the phone disconnected. Same with three different web addresses for the Professional Ordnance company. My dealer friend called his distributor who told him that Pro Ord was in bankruptcy. Just my luck. The only gun I've needed a part for in the last twenty-five years. He says that the company is expected to emerge from bankruptcy (don't hold your breath), but in the meantime, does anyone know of a source for a bolt? BTW, I doubt that the gun had had more than 3 or 4 hundred rounds through it, and all were factory or mild handloads.

What part is it exactly that broke ??? I believe you should be able to use any AR15 replacement part. bowhuntr

Stonecreek, It is my understanding the bolt is not interchangeable with AR clones. They are certainly not identical. You might try a gunshop near the factory. They might know about parts. Please let me know if you find any, I might want to stash a few. BTW, CDNN has the compensators. I put a CQB sling and Optima red dot on mine. The only problems so far was it locking the bolt back with light loads. Warmer loads function fine. Surely someone will resurrect them; they are a great concept. What loads were you firing? How many rounds until failure? Thanks...

I doubt that the part is interchangeable with other AR copies, but I'll certainly be taking a look to see. It is the forward portion of the bolt, the part that actually cams into the barrel recesses. It has two semi-round edged pieces (through which the firing pin extends) which extend rearward into the bolt carrier assembly, which broke off about an inch and a quarter rearward of the bolt head. They appeared as if they had "twisted" into. As I said in my earlier post, the rifle has fired probably less than 400 rounds, and the loads were 52 gr Hornady (cannelured and crimped) over a below-maximum charge of 22.5 grains of AA 2200 (AA lists maximum of 23.5 grains with a 55 grain bullet for a bit over 3200 fps). The shot upon which it broke was actually single-loaded, so there is no chance that the bullet was dislodged as it fed from the magazine. The four previous shots were all normal.

If those AR's use a standard AR barrel then the bolt should be an AR variant bolt. In which case they are very easy to find. Check out: www.ar15.com They have discussion boards and an equipment exchange. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys there.

I owned one and took a real loss on it money wise. The only parts that are interchangable is the lower parts, trigger asembly, according to the company every thing else is made to there specs and not goverment
