I haven;t seen any mentions of folks using Mitchell as a source for Mauser actions. Why is that? Are they not what they claim to be?

Right but it looks as though they have them as little as 299. isnt that a decent price for the action? I dunno... am not too up on what they should cost.

With K98's in such demand, few folks buy them to cut up. The other type they sell are the M48"s. These can be commonly picked up for around $150-$200. SAMCO sells M24/47 barreled actions for around $150. You could get one of the K98's and part out the stockset and barrel and end up with about $150 in it.

I bought a Yugo receiver from them back in 2000
for use in a project.Quality was very good.Only
problem i found was that it was an intermediate
action,rather that a full size action.Thus finding
parts was a pain in the ass.Wish they had said that in their ads.I assumed it was a standard 98
action.
