Is the Picatinny rail x-section the same as Weaver x-section longitudinally?

I can see this drawing and measure a Weaver rail at .835", but are there other important differences?

Picatinny rails have horizontal slots (recoil grooves) running the entire length of the base...other than that, they are basically the same as a Weaver.

MOST Picatinny rails are the same as weaver but you run across a few that are not. This will most often show up on the hand guards on AR's.
I have used Badger, U S Optic's,Ken Farrell and a few others and the were fine. Leupold Mark 4's or the QRW bases are another good choice.
