Other than simple reaming, is there magazine or feed rail work that needs to be done? The rifle in question is an older Whitworth.

The mag box will need to be longer & the transition area where the feed rails start to narrow will probably need a little work. & the action lengthened mostly to the rear. (don't want to grind away too much of that lower lug )

Don't you already have a .458 Lott? .............................................

HI TSTURM: On a Mauser, the limiting factor for rearward "lengthening" is dictated by the bolt stop...maybe MAYBE .050 or so, but now the bolt face will not line up with the front wall of the magazine...okay,,,maybe thin that out some, but where will you get the rest? On a M-70, you still have the magazine box/bolt face alingement issue, but the magazine box is at the most .050 thick even if you remove metal from the bolt stop. I'm not trying start a fight in a telephone booth, but I'd really appreciate any enlightening information...what am I missing?
