I'm getting a stock build for my Win 70 Stainless in 375 h&h and I was wondering if the barrel contour on the stainless version is the same as the Winchester Safari in 375 h&h. The reason I'm asking is simple... the person building the stock is going to use the Win Safari action and barrel to do the inletting...

have your guy wait for the barrel to be fitted before bedding or inletting.

then you KNOW it will fit correctly.

Ok folks,

I've added a picture of my barrel and action with a few measurements I took with a blade caliper. All I'm asking is: Is the barrel on the Winchester M70 Classic Safari Express in 375 H&H of the same dimensions as mine which is also in 375 H&H but made of stainless steel...?

I seriously doubt if the contours will be the same. You will probably have to inlet the barrel to the stock,after the action and barrel are fitted.
