Nice stuff. The last time I saw work of that quality it was by a guy in Wisconsin, a Toby Leeds.
Ever heard of him?

SDH, Thanks for the great pics! What a chore to inlet!
In what order did you inlet? I noticed in your book on Double Guns you had the tang roughed out of a block with the rest still unshapen.
Do you always inlet the top tang first? If so do you inlet the bottom sliding in or coming in from the perpendicular?
On a sidelock do you inlet the tangs and then spot in with the sidelocks parts mounted?

Sorry for too many detailed questions, I'm still waiting for you "how to" book on stockmaking... Smiler.
I just got my personal copy of your book on custom guns in Black and white (I'll have to give LB404's copy back). Your pics of Jerry Fishers round bottom gun were extremely helpfull to my current round bottom project. What do you think of instead of doing a 90deg or Widow's peak forend tip doing it with a rounded rear to echo the round bottom gun?............DJ

....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

Nice piece. Hand chiseled arcaded fences. That's blowing my mind- how did you get the rest of the barrel to line up after cutting deeper into the receiver???

I'd like to see the wood after sealing too. I hope you'll tell us what finish you are using...

A personal project?

SDH,
Is this one of the Belgian sidelocks you mentioned a couple of years ago?
Great looking work.

I saw some of those Britte guns finished at G&H a couple of years back.

Seems like G&H bought the whole batch and there were pimarily 12s available with maybe a few small bores.

That'll be a fine gun for sure - are you keeping that one for yourself, SDH?
