ArnietInterarms Mark X// Rem 798, .458 box length
Does anyone know if the magazine box on the .458 Winchester version of these rifles is the same as .375 H&H, or is it the shorter standard mag length?
In other words, can they be bored out to a 458 Lott without opening the action and obtaining the longer magazine box?

ramrod340Nope
The 458 box is the std length magnum. To rechamber to a Lott you would need to remove metal from the back wall of the box. Extend the box in the front and then remove metal from the feed ramp to match.
Even if you find a 375 length magazine you still must have the feedramp altered.

Very smart Idea. The AccRel case actaully holds a fraction more powder than the LOTT.
So if you want LOTT performance and don't want to pay a fortune to alter the action, build a 458 AR (AccRel)
And yes a 458 AccRel reamer will clean out a 458 Win mag Chamber

jeffeossoThanks Guys .. it will indeed clean up a 458winmag chamber, and offers a hair more capacity, AND a shoulder, over a lott ...
