Great American Gunstocks
About three and one half months ago I contracted with GAG to build a stock and forearm for a Fox Sterlingworth project I have working. About two weeks ago I received the stockset in the time agreed upon and the price agreed upon and to the right dimensions. The quality of the wood, the wood to metal fit, the checkering and the filling and finishing were all to a level that would be hard to surpass or complain about. The only thing that they didnt do exactly as specified was the checkering, and they put a better grade than I asked for. But because it was their mistake they didnt charge me extra for it. I couldnt be happier. I felt compelled to post this because of the horror stories I had read on here. I absolutely would not be afraid to use them again or reccomend them without reservation. Richard
PS Im not smart enough to post pictures but I could e-mail if you might be interested.(im also not a photographer but I think I get the point across)

Perhaps the people at GAG have also read all the horror stories on here and have decided to clean up their act.

I have never believed that they “couldn’t†turn out a good stock for the money...it was always their “willingness†to do so that caused my problems with them.

Ditto what jeffe said. Their finished stock is OK but the semi-inletted can be a crap shoot. And never (NEVER EVER) let them mount a scope unless you want to to look like the one one their web page, LOL.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.
