I need a new DRO for my mill. The choices are bewildering. Acu-Rite, Anilam, Fagor,Newall? any input would be appreciated

mstarlingThe Acu-rite 3-axis is simply wonderful! Shame it's so expensive.

I have a Sony Millman 2 axis DRO in good shape that I took off my Bridgeport copy. The resolution goes down to .0002". I replaced it with a Prototrak 2axis CNC. Let me know if you have any interest.
I'd highly recommend the Prototrak as well, but I wouldn't want to part with mine.

eddieharrenDuane, I have been using the 2 axis Newall on my Bridgeport and one of my Clausing lathes for a good many years. I have no complaints from either. No glass scales to clean or get broken.

Toomany ToolsDuane,
I have two of these, one on each of the mills and they work real well. One's been in service for almost 4 years and the other over 2 and not a single problem. They come with about all the mounting hardware you'll need.

aleaddictFor an inexpensive 3-axis DRO, you might consider the
Shooting Star Technology BT-3. Only $749.00. I have the older CBX-3 on my B'port and its works very well.

Jim KobeWhen I had my Bridgeport rebuilt, I had them install a Mitutoyu. It has worked flawlessly for about 10 years not and occasionally goes on sale at MSC or J$L

Duane WiebeWell, I guess I was expecting something like" Brand X is a POS...don't buy it" Seems there's satisfacion pretty much across the board..seems the 3 axis would be the way to upgrade for not much more $$$$ Thanks again
