just learned something - was fikxing a split in a stock. nasty place that i could get a decent clamping surface, anyway about all i could do was to mix up the accraglass (plain not gel) and tape the surfaced together. i could';t find my normal roll of duct tape anyplace. after a couple weeks ago i had plenty of surgical tape laying around. stick7y stuff should work. it did but with a big side benefit. while the tape stuck to the wood great, it didn't to the accraglas. pealed right off of it neat as could be

I prefer old tire inner tube cut into varying width strips. I inject the glue into the splits and cracks, then cover with plastic food wrap. Finally, I wrap the split area with the inner tube strips and let cure overnite. The inner tube rubber is strong enough to provide continuous clamping pressure throughout the cure. The food wrap doesn't stick to the epoxy.
