Hey all,

After some input here and a very knowledgable gunsmith telling me exactly how to test the ejector I found that it wasn't working when the bolt had pressure applied towards the left of the reciever (as happens when we are pulling on the bolt handle during normal operation). But when pulled straight back or when holding the rifle muzzle up it was ejecting. Upon inspection I found it was because the ejector was broken at the back end and I removed it. Here are a couple pics for anybody interested.
