csutton77(formerly csutton7)SAKO one piece tirgger/bottom metal help needed
On my SAKO 300 win mag AV action it has the one pc trigger guard/bottom metal/floorplate and the button that opens/latches the floor plate fell out somehow--how it did this I have no idea as it looks impossible for it to do so--I see no way that it was held in unless it screws in, but I didn't see any evidence of threads in the hole---so does anyone have an idea on what can be done or where I could buy parts or a different trigger guard assembly--they do come in two pc as my 338 has that style---I could epoxy it shut as an option and may do that, but still if anyone can help out I'd appreciate it--I've looked on the internet, but there seems to be no where to buy this part---of course I can go to Beretta and get it from them possibly, but I'd rather see if there's other options out there---chris

Jim KobeIIRC the floorplate/triger guard assy is not one piece. Underneath, the two pieces are held in place by two little screws. There is a notch on the release button that contacts the bottom metal. You need to tighten the screws while holding the button in. IIRC

csutton77(formerly csutton7)Jim--the button is gone(that's the prob) and I have a bastard trigger guard/floor plate as there are no screws--the whole thing is one pc--my 338 has the little screws but not this one---I can't figure out how the button fell out--it makes no sense--I'm going to look at it again and see if there are threads in there( I know I looked before, but maybe they're deep in there and hard to make out) --- I bought the gun new in 1990 I believe and my 338 I bought new in 1989---so somewhere they changed the bottom metal to one pc vs two pc--possibly for a short time---chris

csutton77(formerly csutton7)Jim--you were right and I'm losing my mind and feeling a little more than stupid here---it's a two pc set up---now for the life of me I can't figure out why I thought it was a one pc --I thought I had taken it off when I talked to a guy back in Kansas about it---but he wanted $250 for the whole set up and I thought that was steep, so I didn't pull the trigger(sorry)---so now I just need the trigger guard or the button--
Jim or anyone else--do you have any idea where I can get either---

308Sakocsutton77 I'll look at mine when I get home in a couple of days. Wasn't there a cross pin holding that in? The older Sako's were one piece guard, and the 2 screw edition followed that.

Jim KobeYou might try Beretta USA. If you have trouble, I have an account there and may be able to help.
