Is taking 0.100" off the reciever where it mates too the barrel too much to still be safe on a Mauser 98?

Regards,
Chris

Why .100? I rarely have to take more than .005 off.

It is what the seller of this actio says that has been removed. Sounded way too much to me.

Are they by chance selling a K.Kale marked Turk action? If so, they had an integral lip that was meant to hold on the handguard. That lip is about .100". Once removed the overall length is the same as other LR Mausers.

When I take enough off the ring to get it smoothe, and then just lap the inner stop ring, then the distance between the two is less than .625", so the barrel shoulder to breech must be adjusted.
