Am getting antsy and have to get my fix. Need some wood too. Will also hit the SCI show on Friday, but then I may miss out on the best wood at noon.

See you there?

Jim

If Chic were going he'd have his name on all the best stuff well before Friday night!

ROFLMAO. Stu you beat me to it. I do think I will fly down and help Preslik load his table and cherry pick the wood. Particularly the stuff I know Jim likes. He and I "have" a mutual blank that is residing at my home, by the slimest of margins.

Have a great time Jim, going to miss you. Next year should be better.

If you have your eye on a nice blank and want it, make sure you pay for it and then take it with you. DON'T, I repeat, DON'T leave it with Preslik if Customstox is in the building. He is one crafty SOB.

Jim,

I'll be at the Guild show, but probably not until Saturday morning. I'm spending most of Friday in the "Tahoe" area, playing in the snow with my grandson. I think ForrestB may also be going to Reno. I hope to see you there Jim.

I won't be in Reno this year. Too many things going on at home: softball practice, baseball tryouts, piano recital, biology project on cell meiosis and mitosis due next week. You know ... all the things that make me a Dad.

I'm going to miss it. You guys keep your paws off of my stuff.

ForrestB - I missed seeing you at the show, but "being a Dad" is much more important. I saw your 300H&H on Duane Wiebe's table. It's a beauty! They auctioned a 30 cal. half octagon - integral rib barrel done by Martini, but it flew past my budget! I think it brought $1,400.

Glen71,
I was at the Guild acution and banquet. My wife won a blank from Preslick and I won two in the silent auction. I also won the open auction for the Jerry Fisher trap grip cap and the pre-64 round bottom metal. All together a great trip-SCI, ACGG, and the ABS shows.

lb404 - I wondered who won all the stuff I wanted; it was you! Big Grin I won the silent auction for a Fisher grip cap and the live auction for the Turkish rifle blank. I had promised I would not buy any wood this trip, but it was going to be sold for $275!! Eeker

Dang lb404 you should have skipped the dinner and used your luck in the casino. You brought home enough loot to get started on a few new rifles. Using a little of that "Reno accounting" they'll be almost FREE!

Glen, it was almost painful sitting through a piano recital while thinking about what I was missing out in Reno. Actually it WAS painful. Duane is supposed to be breaking down the rifles to send the metal off for some very modest engraving work and lettering. I'm concerned that the 375 wasn't there. I hope he didn't sell it for booze money!

I think it's amazing how cheaply some of the auction items sell for. It makes me feel better knowing you brought home a stick of turkish for me as a consolation prize.

I was talking to one of the engravers from MN and he told me someone had come around looking for me. I never did find out who it was. Any help?
