Looking for a good smith in the local area. I have a 1886 Winchester extra light in 45-70 that basically doesn't have any throat in the barrel and need to have the throat recut.
I know I can always mail it out to someone but would like to find someone local if I could who does good work in a reasonable time frame.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I don't know if he does lever guns but Mike McCabe was right around Denver last time I talked to him. That's about 1.5 hours from you if I remember right from last time I was there.

Contact Kevin Weaver/ Weaverrifles.com 719/683-3024
He's in Falcon, just up the road a bit
from you. Fine workmanship.
A bit back logged right now, about 4 months
on my projects. He fully believes in backing up
his work. I bought a rifle from it's third owner
with Weaver Rifles engraved on it. Had cycling
problems. Worked on it a full three hrs first time
I met the guy. "N/C: it has my name on it"

For a small job like that, maybe Jack Bayuk
in Pueblo, he's trying to retire to just
tinkering repair jobs. 719/545-3340
Try not to call him after about 6pm though.
He's worked on guns full time since '73. Just
might even have the reamer you need. Best there
is/has been down here. Really putting the bind
on us locals with him shutting down.
Good luck,
George
