Recoil RobRem. 700 trigger replacement..
Not to stir the pot but after all the years of false starts today I got 2 emails from Remington with the info required to send 2 guns in to have the triggers replaced.
I actually did have an AD once when taking the gun off safe...
What type trigger are they replacing it with? Is it even worth my time to send these back?
thanks,
Rob

just say moeI think they replace with the XMark Pro. 6 lb "adjustable" to 5lb. I think I would pass. If you don't trust your rifle, replace it with a Timney.

Recoil RobI was thinking along those lines too, but does the Timney come with a new safety?
thanks,
Rob

BobsterI work at a Remington authorized service center. We are replacing triggers in older X-Mark models and recently older Walker triggers. The lawsuit was finally settled. Walker trigger guns get a standard non-adjustable X-Mark Pro trigger. The lowest pull we are allowed to release is 4 lb. 0 oz. Older X-Mark guns either get an adjustable or a non-adjustable depending on what they were originally equipped with. The adjustable ones (with the screw in the trigger bow) can be set set down to 3.5 lbs 0 oz. but the adjustment screw is run in until it registers between 4 to 5 lbs 0 oz. The non-user adjustable ones are set no lower than 4 lb 0 oz.

Recoil RobThank you Bob for clarifying. Does Remington cover shipping? i seem to remember they were sending out boxes at one time in preparation for this, is that still part of the settlement?

BobsterThe ones covered by the recall and the Walker Lawsuit come in shipping pre-paid. Remington will send you a box and a shipping label.

You'll throw any Timney in the trash to get that POS out of circulation.
