Can one of you CZ american owners give me the length of the mag box on the 30-06 or 9.3X62?? Second question how difficult would it be to open it up to around 3.5"? Thinking of either a 9.3X66 or my own wildcat case. To take advantage of the longer case I need the box 3.5"+.

Ramrod: I just took my CZ 550 American in 7x57mm to measure the magazine lenght for you. It is the same size magazine used for the .30/06 and .270 class rifles. Anyway, the lenght is 3.464 inches. I don't see how you can open it up more than what it is right now.
