I have been looking for a 9,3x64 rifle for quite some time and I have just missed what was probably the last one available in Portugal. It was a Voer rifle (new) and was sold one month ago for about 700 USD. This is not a very popular calibre in this country so the rifle was on the shelf for a few years! So far the prices given by gunshops for a rifle to be imported from Voer, Heym, and other European manufacturers, are much over my budget. I am now considering the possibility of buying any low price rifle (CZ ?) and have it rebarreled (Lothar Walther barrel ?). I would much appreciate suggestions and advises on this, from all of you experienced people on this forum. Thanks B.Martins

If you want a CZ why not start out with a 9.3x62 ? Then all you need are a few action mods and rechambering .........

b.martins On the CZ, I opened up the bolt face and rechambered. Worked fine. Cobalt

BMartins I beleave the least expensive way to go is to buy a Lothar Walter already threaded & chambered for Mauser 98 in 9.3x64. They sell for about &150.00 (US)+ shipping. Find a Mauser 98 action, open the bolt face, a wee bit of rail work & your on your way.

Thanks very much to all of you for your valuable suggestions and advises. I will discuss all those possible solutions with a gunsmith and try to find the most adequate (taking into consideration all the market and legal limitations on my country). B.Martins
