Can a current production Howaby Vanguard that is chambered in 300 WBY, be rebarreled to 375 H&H or 416 Remington? Any potential problems that may crop up with such a project? Seems like a straightforward rebarrel. Thanks ZM

I have considered that project myself. I think you are dead on. Straight rebarrel job. I believe the 300 wby is based on 375 H&H brass. Lance Lance Larson Studio lancelarsonstudio.com

Yes it does and the stumbling block to me is the metric threads.....some lathes can do it and some cannot. You might be able to buy a pre threaded and chambered barrel and just "fit" it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." The only "problem" with metric threads is it just takes a little longer because you got to change some gears around, actually only one on my lathe. Just did a Howa for a guy.
