Rick, You might want to give Western Gun parts a call. They will have the standard Winchester part which is also available from Brownells of course. The spring steel extractors is a little more difficult and I don't know who to call. Maybe D'Arcy Echols will sell one of his. If you want me to get you a Winchester one, let me know. I can't part with one of my pre-64 extractors I'm afraid. Regards, Bill.

Will a pre-64 model 70 extractor fit on a bolt from a new M70 classic?

Bill, what the hell???!! You won't gut your nice 308 Norma so I can play with my rifle?? I just got off the phone with LeeRoy Wisner at http://www.gunpartsspecialist.com/ and ordered a genuine spring steel extractor from him. At $55 US and change, it's a great deal considering what Winchester wants for a piece of cast, recycled motel furniture. I'll eventually get it nickeled or powder coated for rustproofness. Even if my factory extractor hadn't buggered up, I still was considering putting a real extractor on that rifle. In a week or two my 300Wby, now 358 Norma Leeper Fraser Long Bomb Express will be singin'.
