| Very nice work indeed! But as you say, not a lot of love for cerakote. As my gunsmith friend said when these type of finishes came out: Paint is for cars. He is still right after all these years I believe. |

| I do use the painted finishes like Cerakote, Durakote, Guncoat, etc, on utilitarian rifles with plastic stocks, etc. Paint does have a place in gun finishes. The above one does look good though. |

| Thanks guys. I tend to agree with the sentiment here. I prefer a traditional blued metal finish on a wood stocked rifle. However I mostly hunt with fiberglass stocked rifles with painted on metal finishes. Last year it rained and snowed half of rifle season here. When I got out of the woods each day I would just blow off the excess water with an air hose and leave the gun in the truck. |
