Here's a "good guy" report: I sent a Ruger No.1 off to Jesse Ocumpaugh (35caliber.com) in Oregon for a rebore-rechamber to .35 Whelen. It came back to me completed in just over a week as he stated it would. The chamber is excellent and the bore looks great. Best of all, this:

$225, which included the return shipping. I had him throat it long and give it a 12 inch twist to handle longer, heavier bullets, but even the 225 gr Accubonds are obviously pretty happy.

He did a 375 Whelen for me a few years ago. Ten days my door to him and back. He charge $225. Jes does great work.

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Thomas Jefferson
