I need some advice on replacing the extractor on a M700 long action. is there any one of the aftermarket extractors better? i have seen the Ar-15 & Sako's used is one better than the other? are there any more out there and are they better than either one of these?
thanks

There's nothing wrong with Remington's extractor for a Remington bolt.. Stay with it.

If you desire another design get a M70 or a CZ or whatever. JMO.

George I listened to my gunsmith on this and he suggested the "sako" style extractor. He did a great job and it looks like it has always belong there. It's a very positive extractor. Rich

I have had one factory extractor fail on a 700 and have since had the extractors in all of my 700's replaced with the sako unit. They work perfectly.
