How tough is it? I've seen what I think are the parts on Brownells? I am not the best 'precisionist' out there, but fairly mechanical--what say you masters??

New stock and bottom metal. The actions are the same.

Short or long action? I've got the bottom metal to a short action kicking around.

You don't need a new stock. Inlet the BDL bottom metal into the ADL stock. Not hard to do at all.

It's a long action (270 Win) trying to figure exactly what the inletting job consists of....

Trying to keep it low budget, but I'll farm it out if I need to!

I just converted my ADL 30-06 and you will also need to shorten up the box or buy a new BDL box for $11 bucks.

Interesting. On the one I recently did, inletting/wood removal was all I had to do, BDL mag box worked fine with no alterations.

ADL to BDL SA 308.

The ADL box will not work without cutting it down...a BDL box is a drop in and easy way around additional work.

That's a wood stock?

I just bought a brand new BDL takeoff stock in the box for 60.00 and the BDL bottom metal plu follower and spring was 88.00 off ebay to do this very same thing.
