Does anyone know how the Remington detachable magazine is put together? I want to take one apart without destroying it. It almost seems like the bottom of the clip is glued on...but that might be a varnish on the metal. Any help?

You tip the follower to one side engough to get it out. You have to grip and pull the follower out the top, be advised that the magazine spring is odd, it is shaped like an x with a one piece bottom that postions it front to rear.
So make sure which direction the spring goes back in place.

The bottom is spot welded in place, and the latches are put in place and then the edges formed to hold the latches in place.

Ok, your suggestion about tipping the follower worked...I can see how it goes together now. Mine has a regular W-shaped follower. The one you describe sounds like the A-bolt magazine. Thanks for the help.

The first one I took apart was from a stainless 338 Mag, about 3 years old.

I have my blued 30-06 magazine here in front of me, that is 1 1/2 years old and it has the X spring in it as well.

It has been so long since I have had a A-bolt magazine apart that I can not recall them.

They are not that hard to take down you just have to remember how they go back together.

Glad it worked for you.
