Just picked this up at the local recycle shop at the dump for $10....a few mods and I can see a checkering cradle. tu2

Close but no cigar! $7.50 USD

Yes, with a few mods on the pivot and a different mount for the buttstock, it would be quite useable.
At the moment I'm working on making some cutters to do flat top checkering.

I have one just like that but it has a trailer ball hitch so you can change the angle on it in a vise..

I have not used it for the last 5 years, I have a great lady in Vegas do my checkering...

Another awesome gal checkers for Dennis Olson, plains, Mt...You have to go through Dennis I think, both are outstanding..Dennis' lady can do in an hour in her lap on a towel what I can do in a week and better for that matter. Id like to see some of our best stockmakers do that!! I can;t imagine..
