Our 3rd year was 3 times bigger than last year. Shilen had about 100 barrels for sale for $100 for CM and $135-$145 for SS and SS select match. David Christman was there with some beautiful single shots, my 7x57 double square bridge Mexican with a James Anderson half octagon barrel. Les Brooks and Hog killer had tables as well as Craftsmen. I came away with a Parker shotgun, 5000 primers, a frozen scope, and thought I had bought a really nice Citori 20 ga.with a nice leather case for $650, but someway, somebody else walked with it. Ryan Fischer from Midway was there and was a very nice young man. We had a seminar on freezing the moveable parts in a Leupold for BR use.Food was good and most importantly was the good fellowship. We had folks from all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisana. Mike Ratigan, our 2 time World Champion was their from Woodward, Okla. with his 2 daughters. His 11 yr. old daughter sold about $50 worth of rocks that she picked up in the parking lot. She only charged $.50 ea. Mike said last month at the World Championships in Austria, she came up to him after the days shooting with $150 and a handful of shooting pins. He asked where she got them. She said" Dad people just gave them to me and other people wanted to buy them". He won't have to worry about her making her own way. Butch

Butch, I want to thank you and the fine folks a Shilen, for getting this organized again. I have enjoyed all three of these swap meets. Picked up a 1,000 Fed 215, to keep the big cases lit up. Sold a couple of rifles and some plugs. All in all, a good day. Butch Have you ever posted photos of that Mexican with the James Anderson barrel. If not, how about posting a few?

Sounds like a great time. I had to stay and work with some guys on my ranch. I'll try to be there next year. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

All of you who did not go really missed out. I made a lot of new friends, met a few old ones, the food was terrific, I ate like a field hand. I sold a few items and Les Brooks twisted my arm and made me buy his Charles Daly O&U 28 guage. Les displayed some beautiful custom rifles and lots of gunsmith equipment. I think everyone had a very good time. Thanks Butch for letting us all know about this event and thanks to the Hulls for being such great hosts. David Christman displayed some incredible workmanship with a couple of Ruger No 1's, and couple of square bridge mausers. Craftsman
