I have been calling Fed Ex and UPS since before Thanksgiving every week. Sometimes twice a week trying to get a Firearms shipping agreement. According to them it is required to ship firearms. They have a list of rules to follow. I cannot get them to send it to me. The person from Pakistan that answers the phone is zero help. Normally I would not care and just ship it. But I had to ship a gun that needed alot of insurance. If I send it with out the signed document I don't want them backing out on an insurance claim saying I violated their rules. I ended up getting the local gun shop to ship for me. But I don't want to rely on them, they have their own business to run. I gave up on UPS its so difficult to get to a real person.

Besides staying on them does anyone have any suggestions getting them to send me the damn agreement.

That guy is from India, and he will send you the Firearms Component shipping agreement via Email. I have been talking to him for 2 weeks now.
However, why not just mail it.
Anyway, they did send me the agreement within 3 days. But if you don't fill it out, he will retract it. And no US based person can do it; I was on the phone for two days trying to find one; it don't exist. I even talked to our local terminal manager; he said, pound sand, unless you have a pre paid/pre approved shipping document.
Sad state of affairs.
If you want, you can PM me and I'll give you his direct email address.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. I will PM you. At least you got someone that knows what you are talking about. USPS would not insure this shotgun enough. It needed insurance above $5000. It was a Purdy 1885 double that was valued at above $12k. It needed a Purdy smith to repair it and revtime it.

Insurance can be purchased on registered domestic mail for up to $25,000. It's by far the best way to ship a valuable item, in my opinion.

My local post office isn't known to hire the most intelligent people. I believe you but they told me no. I didn't believe them at the time but didn't have any facts to make an argument

I also think with registered mail any claim is quickly handled and paid. I believe they've increased the insurance amount to $50,000.

"Registered Mail
Get maximum security for your valuable items. Registered Mail® items can be insured for up to $50,000 at your Post Office™ location."

Twice I've had PO employees tell me I can't ship a rifle or shotgun via the USPS to an FFL. In both cases I requested a supervisor who told me the same thing. Obviously, they don't know their own rules. I then showed them a copy of their regulations which I copied from their website. I then had one of the postal idiots tell me "how do I know it's going to an FFL." When I showed him a copy of the FFL's license he then gave up and accepted the shipment.

Sadly, when you ship via USPS you have to be ready to educate them on their own rules.

I have also had to train guy local USPS people, and UPS, before they changed company policy. Taking their own regs and showing them, is the best way.
