I,m finishing a couple of laminate stocks with truoil is it necessary to use a filler? What will the difference in the finish be?

It just takes more coats of finish. The laminated wood seems to be denser and finishes rather quickly. Good luck.

I would suggest a polyurathane finish on laminate as it is more waterprof, and faster to apply..You need a "built up finish" or a skin as Chic so apply calls it...No need to fill a laminate stock as it has few pores to fill...Marine Spar varnish works well also.... Modified Oil finishes should be regulated to Walnut and/or traditional wood stocks IMO.....
