I've thrown in the towel in trying to continue the Sound Metal Products name and logo. The property tax assessor simply refuses to observe or even look at receipts that clearely make me personally and not SMP the owner of assets.

The dirty little secret is that the "sole owner" gets a $15000.00 exemption that is not avilable to an LLC.

Guess how long it took me to pry that out of them? Two kinds of lies: That which is un true and withholding that which is true.

Anyway, all products are still available through Duane Wiebe...thanks folks....

Duane,
I am glad you will continue to produce the bottom metal. The three I have bought from you have all been excellent. I still hope you will do a run for the '03. Dealing with the government is one of the most frustrating events in our lives these days. Just be thankful we don't get all the government we are forced to pay for.

Now I thought the burden of proof was on the government when it came to taxes?? Please note I've yet to be under the gun on a tax bill or had anything like this happen. I'm not in your shoes Duane but I'd try to fight it as long as possible, maybe you already did and this is enough for you. Everyone has their point.

I will continue to purchase no matter what you call it. I really like the Model 70 box that holds 4 down in the what I call "normal Magnums" 300 Win. and 338 Win. even 458 Win. That was something I chased for a long time.
